We believe in the importance of debriefing with students who have been evaluated and determined eligible for special education. Students with individualized education plans (IEPs) are often eligible to receive supplementary aids and services. These are aids, services, and other supports that are provided in regular education classes, other education-related settings, and in extracurricular and nonacademic settings, to enable children with disabilities to be educated with non-disabled children to the maximum extent appropriate. A meeting between psychologist, teacher, and student can constitute a supplementary service and make a real difference in terms of providing students with continuity and insight on how adults at school can help them do their best!
