Services For Families
Your child’s education is the foundation for the future. I am here to support your family through the process of educational planning. As an experienced advocate, I will work with you to ensure that your child’s school experience meets the academic, social, and emotional needs of your child in a holistic way. I will take a collaborative approach with teachers, administrators, and clinicians to support their ability to provide evidence-based educational interventions and appropriately individualized services and accommodations for your child.
Psychological Evaluation
I offer comprehensive testing services to address learning disabilities; social, emotional, and behavioral concerns; ADHD; and autism spectrum disorder in children, adolescents and young adults. This is an opportunity to address your concerns, find out if your student qualifies for special education services, and receive clarification about how your child learns best.
Testing covers an assessment of academic skills, executive functioning (planning, time management and organization, along with impulse control and attention), memory, and social-emotional and behavioral functioning.
Special Education and Individualized Education Program (IEP) Advocacy
Students who are being considered eligible for special education services have rights and protections under state and federal law. I have years of experience specializing in due process, compliance, and the delivery of substantive provisions under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). I can assist you every step of the way from the initial referral to IEP implementation and goal attainment.
ADA/504 Plans
If an IEP is not appropriate for your child, students with a documented disability still have the right to access their education. Through the Americans with Disabilities Act, or through Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, your child may be afforded the right to individualized accommodations. As an experienced advocate, I can help you navigate the complex and ever-changing legal trends related to the provision of educational accommodations.
